This
calculation of Pi(π) , is based on a new mathematical discipline
–called phenometry- which is based ona finite Universe, created by G’d,
with purpose and precision.Areas are expressions of lines, and volumes are expressions of areas.Approximations and limits are not allowed.
With
the name Allah, Merciful Benefactor, Merciful Redeemer. In the course
of this work, several concepts that have stagnated mathematical thought
for centuries, have been redefined, hence the philosophical background
for these changes, has to be elaborated on.
A common fallacy prevalent to western societies, and spread to several different cultures, is that math and science are independent from philosophical and theological backgrounds.Mathematicians and scientists have often being divided on the subject of religion, some of them been devout believers, some atheists and some of them being indifferent on the subject.
What we propose in this treatise, is that it is impossible for the existence of a system of human logic to exist, without the existence of a philosophical and therefore theological system. The reason for the connection between a philosophical and theological system, is that even the belief in the absence of a Creator, is a religion in and of itself. With religion meaning a way of life based upon someone's beliefs on the origin and purpose of themselves, proper, and of themselves in conjunction with the origin and purpose of the entire Universe.
At the base of our argument, is the premise that the question of the existence of G'd, -who G'd is, or who is in control of the Universe- is a more fundamental question, than any mathematical and scientific inquiry. Any child wonders about G'd and the miracles of this creation, before their intellect is developed to the point that they wish to study a physical phenomenon, and utilize mathematical tools for its solution.
Consequently, the intellect formulates the questions that lead to the understanding of the physical world, based on the answer that was given to the primary question, which was the question of the existence of G'd. Many scientists and non-scientists, may not have paid attention to the evolution of their intellectual processes, but it will only take an honest look at someone's childhood, and the teachings from one's environment, to ascertain the truth of the above premise
.As the intellect further develops, the questioning becomes more "sophisticated", but the primary background, -the existence of G'd- will always color someone's perception. For example, the atheist biologist, will develop a theory, based on his or her underlying attempt to disprove the existence of G'd. He or she will design experiments which will verify their theory, which will verify their philosophy and absence of religion. The results of their experiment, their data, may be absolute -with absolute meaning, uncolored of philosophy-, but the questions, the setup of the experiment, were definitely "philosophically dependent".
It is with these thoughts that we will present some of the philosophical background of phenometry, phenometry defined as "the study of the expression of physical phenomena", a new discipline found by phenomecist Hisham El-Amin, which in more familiar terms can be described as a combination of mathematics and physic.
In phenometry, the Universe is finite, measurable and calculable. This premise can be derived from the intellectual deduction and religious principle, that the human being is not G'd, only G'd is The Infinite One, which makes the Universe, finite. Believing that it is G'd's plan for the human being to understand the Universe -as the human being seeks to understand His Divine will-, the Universe also has to be seen as measurable and calculable.
There are certain fundamental principles, that govern the Universe. These principles include: The existence of order, the existence of symmetry, the existence of continuity, the existence of patterns and the existence of proportionality. These principles will be elaborated on, in subsequent publications.
Phenometry
also studies points, as having potentially infinite dimensions.
Therefore each point has measurable dimensions and as it expresses itself, develops lines that also possess measurable dimensions. Areas are developed as expressions of lines, and volumes are expressions of areas. All these expressions are results of motion in space and time. (The concepts of space and time will also be elaborated on subsequent publications.)
With the elimination of the concept of infinite Universe, a fraction can no longer be written as an infinite series, since fractionalization will have to stop, once the dimensions of the point are reached. (With "dimensions of the point", referring to the smallest dimensions of the point in the phenomenal expression, that is being considered) Using this train of thought, the use of "limits" -as in calculus- is unacceptable.
To further elaborate on the subject of calculus, calculus uses approximations, under the umbrella of accuracy. For example, infinitesimals of second and higher order, (dx2,dx3...), are routinely ignored. In phenometry, the Universe is built on "truth", which means plan, purpose, and precision, and that has to be reflected in precise calculations, with no approximations. Approximations are due to an incomplete perception. The definition of an algebraic equation is not accepted in phenometric considerations, neither are the concepts of irrational and transcendental numbers (to be discussed in future publications).
Imaginary numbers as well as any mathematical structure that is not reflective
of physical reality, are not acceptable. Tangents and slopes are also
redefined using phenometric considerations, in subsequent publications.
It should be apparent to the reader that phenometry is a discipline of the scholar who will dare to think -using sound reasoning- outside established concepts that have only produced mathematical starvation. The rewards from this new thinking, will be immeasurable and invaluable.
